When knowing why isn’t enough
Because why is history, how is change
Strategic, evidence-based psychotherapy and clinical hypnosis for lasting change
Are you highly self-aware, consider yourself emotionally intelligent and deeply allergic to the typical corporate wellness language? You've tried therapy, read the self-help books and explored every tool you could find. Yet somehow, you keep ending up in the same patterns, wondering why change doesn't last.
Therapy doesn't have to feel like sitting under fluorescent lights talking about your childhood for ten years. Sometimes you need a fresh perspective, practical tools and someone willing to gently hold up a mirror to your blind spots, and then evolve through them with you.
Get ready for an adventure leading to lasting change with Liminal Therapy.
Liminal (adj):
The transitional inbetween space in therapy where you have left an old way of being behind, but have not yet fully stepped into the new. It is a threshold of deep personal transformation; holding the ultimate potential for growth, healing and self discovery.

Your questions, answered

Therapy is about understanding your experiences, emotions and patterns. Clinical hypnosis can help you access those patterns differently, creating space for new ways of thinking, feeling and responding.
Together, they offer a strategic approach to change. Rather than simply talking about what's happening, we work with both your conscious understanding and your subconscious patterns to support lasting progress.
Every session is tailored to you. Sometimes we'll spend time exploring what's beneath the surface; other times we'll focus on practical strategies or use hypnosis when it's likely to be most helpful. There is no one-size-fits-all approach; just the approach that best supports your goals.
-
Strategic therapy means every session has purpose.
Instead of simply revisiting problems week after week, we'll work together to understand what's keeping you stuck and how that is happening, identify meaningful goals and choose the approaches most likely to help you move forward.
That may include psychotherapy, clinical hypnosis, practical coping strategies or a combination of these. Sessions are flexible and collaborative, always adapted to your individual needs rather than following a fixed formula. -
Clinical hypnosis is a well-established, evidence-based therapeutic tool used by trained professionals to support concerns such as anxiety, stress, trauma, pain management, habits, compulsions, phobias and building confidence.
It isn't mind control or stage hypnosis. Despite what you have seen in the theatre or in movies, and despite clinical hypnosis being a fairly new therapeutic method compared to the centuries-old practices we already know exist, it's not a freaky side-show experience. You'll remain aware, in control and able to stop at any time.
When integrated with psychotherapy, hypnosis can help reinforce therapeutic work by making it easier to access focused attention, relaxation and new perspectives. For many people, it complements traditional talk therapy and can support meaningful, lasting change.

I primarily support adults experiencing anxiety, trauma and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences.
You don't need to have experienced a single major traumatic event to benefit from therapy. I aim to work alongside people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, constantly on edge, or exhausted from carrying patterns they've developed over time.
You may be experiencing:Persistent anxiety or excessive worry
Panic attacks or heightened stress
Trauma or unresolved past experiences
Difficulty regulating emotions
Low self-confidence or self-worth
Overthinking or intrusive thoughts
Relationship or attachment challenges
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Feeling disconnected from yourself or the life you want to live
Together, we'll work to understand what's driving these patterns, not just manage the symptoms. Using psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy, we'll develop a tailored approach that helps you build resilience, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Not at all. Clinical hypnosis isn't about belief or being "put under." It's a collaborative process that uses focused attention and guided techniques to help you engage with your thoughts, emotions and behaviours in a different way. Many people are surprised by how natural it feels. Curiosity and a willingness to participate are far more important than being convinced before you arrive.
-
The most important thing is simply to arrive as you are.
Before your first appointment, we'll begin with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions you may have, and make sure we're a good fit before booking a full session.
You don't need to prepare a detailed life story or have everything figured out. Some people arrive with a clear goal, while others simply know that something isn't feeling right. Both are completely okay.
If you can, allow yourself a few quiet moments before your session to settle in and minimise distractions. Wearing comfortable clothing and arriving with an open mind can also help, particularly if we decide clinical hypnosis is appropriate for your adventure.
Your first session is about getting to know you and your concerns, understanding your goals, and working together to create a plan that feels safe, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

Your therapist
Hi, I'm Maz and Liminal Therapy is my practice. I'm for curious humans; people who don't fit neatly into boxes and don't particularly want to. I like to do things a bit differently and in a personalised way so you feel connected to your therapist and so that the experience feels more like an adventure than a chore.
Whether you're changing careers, relationships, identities, countries or the entire direction of your life, therapy with a solid strategy can help you navigate the unknown without losing yourself. I've been there, and I've found that this approach gets to the root of understanding what patterns you're running, not what 'treatment' you need to dull your chaos.

Changing habits that no longer work for you
Quietening the inner critic and strengthening your own voice
Breaking cycles of overthinking, avoidance, people-pleasing or self-sabotage

Understanding what is within your control — and what isn’t
Communicating more clearly and setting boundaries
Changing patterns that are affecting relationships
Moving from knowing what you want to change to actually doing something differently
